Persons who changed their nationality and were registered in the population register of a Dutch municipality at the time of the change of nationality (from 01-01-2013)

Description

The persons who have changed their nationality shall be the identification number, the date of the change of nationality, the date of any subsequent change of nationality, the year of publication, the nationality acquired, the lost nationality and the rules by which the change of nationality was obtained/lost. Nationality: Being a legal national of a particular state (citizenship). Individuals may have multiple nationalities. In order to avoid double counting, only the first nationality is published in statistical overviews of persons with multiple nationalities. Prioritisation rules are laid down for this purpose. This means that someone with Dutch nationality is increasingly Dutch in statistics. For people who do not have Dutch nationality, the order applies: nationality of one of the Benelux countries, nationality of a State within the European Union, other European nationality, non-European nationality. People who do not have a nationality are stateless. Scheme: Main ways of obtaining Dutch citizenship laid down in the Dutch National Law on Dutch citizenship. Acquisition of Dutch citizenship: Acquisition of Dutch citizenship other than by birth. Dutch citizenship can be obtained by law (including through adoption), by option, by naturalisation (self-employed or co-naturalisation) and by recognition. Not included are children whose father and/or mother is Dutch during the birth of the child, foundlings and persons of the third generation. They are automatically Dutch and are included in birth statistics. Loss of Dutch citizenship: Withdrawal or renunciation of Dutch nationality. Dutch citizenship will be lost if the family law relationship from which Dutch citizenship is derived expires. In this respect, Dutch citizenship will in no case be lost if statelessness would result. Adults lose Dutch nationality by voluntarily acquiring another nationality or by making a waiver. For a minor, Dutch citizenship is lost in the event of recognition, legalisation or adoption by a non-Dutch citizen if the minor thus acquires his nationality or (in the case of multiple nationality) who already possesses. However, this should not lead to statelessness. In addition, the loss of Dutch citizenship cannot occur as long as one of the parents is still Dutch. Age of age: Person aged 18 or older or a person who was married before reaching the 18th birthday. Minor: (unwrought) person under 18 years of age. Stateless: A person who cannot be regarded as a national by any State. This file is a final file and will no longer change. Persons who have changed their nationality in the previous year but whose changes have not been received until after the end of the previous publication year have been added to the current publication year. Therefore, the year in the variable DATUMNATISATION does not have to be the same as the PUBLICATION YEAR. A publication year will be closed around 15 February following the publication year. ### Population Persons who changed their nationality and were registered in the population register of a Dutch municipality at the time of the change of nationality.
