Divorces in which at least one of the partners is registered in the population register of a Dutch municipality at the time of divorce, per publication year (01-01-2013-01-01-2014)

Description

Of these divorces, if possible, the identification number of both partners, the date of the divorce, the year of publication, the number of previous divorces of both partners and the number of minor children involved in the divorce are included. Divorce: Dissolution of a marriage or registered partnership other than death. Marriage (legal): Legal commitment to the coexistence of two persons. Registered partnership: A relationship similar to marriage between two persons of the same or different sex, recorded in a civil status deed. The registered partnership was introduced in the Netherlands on 1 January 1998. A demographically important distinction between marriage and partnership concerns parenthood about children born out of the relationship. The spouse of a married woman who has a child is automatically the father of the child. The registered partner of a woman who has a child is not automatic. This file is a final file and will no longer change. Divorces that took place in the previous year but of which the divorce message was received only after the closing of the previous publication year have been added to the current publication year. Therefore, the year in the variable GBADUM SCHEIDING does not have to be the same as the PUBLICATION YEAR CHANGE. A publication year will be closed around 15 February following the publication year. Because a divorce is counted as at least one of the partners registered in the population register of a Dutch municipality, unknown partners (partner 1 or partner 2) may appear in the file. Divorces can be pronounced both in the Netherlands and abroad. A divorce order is registered in the divorce register of the municipality of marriage. Marriages concluded abroad and registered in the Netherlands can be dissolved in the Netherlands by registering the divorce order in the divorce register of the municipality &s-Gravenhage. ### Population Divorces in which at least one of the partners is registered in the population register of a Dutch municipality at the time of the divorce.
