Production of livestock manure by animal category per farm (from 01-01-2013)

Description

The figures include, by animal category and per farm, the production of livestock manure as total weight, as weight per mineral (nitrogen, phosphate and potassium), including gaseous losses (ammonia and other nitrogen losses). The permitted placement space for nitrogen and phosphate (area farm times use standard) is also given per farm. The database contains breakdowns by region (municipalities, corop areas, provinces and agricultural areas) and by agricultural type. More information on how to access the data: > https://www.cbs.nl/nl-nl/onze-diensten/maatwerk-en-microdata/microdata-zelf-onderzoek-doen ### Methodology The production of nitrogen, phosphate and potassium has been calculated as a balance per animal: the inclusion of minerals with the feed minus the determination of minerals in animal products, such as milk, meat and eggs according to the standardised calculation methodology of the Working Group on Uniforming Fertiliser and Mineral Figures (WUM). The gaseous nitrogen losses per animal are based on the National Emissions Model for Agriculture (NEMA). The principles used in the calculations are documented annually in the article series &Animal manure and minerals; (CBS) and in the series & Ammonia emissions from animal manure and fertiliser; (NEMA Working Group). ### Population The target population of the agricultural census: all companies producing agricultural products for the market, with its principal place of business in the Netherlands, with a minimum economic size of NSO 3000 (Dutch Standard Production).
