Description
These datasets provide an overview of the number of petition proceedings initiated and terminated in the canton and civil sectors of the courts. The number of cases terminated in a given year is regardless of the year in which the case started. In most cases, a petition procedure ends with a final decision. Some of the cases end with a settlement or are withdrawn.

### Methodology
The data on petitions before the courts are derived from the DataWareHouse of the Council for the Judiciary.
