Persons registered in the Municipal Basic Administration of Personal Data (GBA) and their legal parents (from 01-01-1995)

Description

This component is a key file containing RINPERSOON numbers of all persons registered in the Basic Registration Persons (BRP) and the RINPERSOON numbers of their parents to the extent that the parent(s) could be identified. Finally, a link number has been added. The couple number indicates how the link between parent(s) and child has been established. At birth cohorts, the chance of found child-parent combinations decreases. It is therefore recommended that people born before 1966 be careful when interpreting (parent) data from this component. The selective absence of parent/child relationships can lead to unreliable outcomes. Ask for advice for use by the satellite coordinator SatDemography. The component contains a small number of errors. These are parents who are of a non-plausible or impossible age relative to the age of their child. It also happens that the RINPERSOON number of the parent is the same as that of the child. For each study, the assessment must be made whether it is necessary to apply a correction to the file for these errors. It should be borne in mind that the component concerns data from the parents. Therefore, it is possible that at a certain point in time for which parent data are known, the person himself does not belong to the population of the Netherlands and may not even have even been born. ### Population From 1 October 1994 persons registered in the Municipal Basic Administration of Personal Data (GBA) whose identification number of at least one of the legal parents is known. As of version 2018, people who have parents but whose identification number of the person is unknown. These people have RINPERSOONS = 'N#039; got a fictitious identification number. These children’s races have been added to achieve a better fertility rate for older generations in particular. As of version 2015, stillborn persons and their parent(s) have been added. Of the stillborns in no regular lisci identification number. These persons have RINPERSOONS = 'D and#039; got a fictitious identification number. Through this addition, parents who have had a stillborn child can be identified
