Consumers Business and Consumer Research: consumer confidence, economic climate, willingness to buy by households and individuals. (01-01-2012 - 02-01-2017)
Description
The Consumer Economic Survey (CCO) sets out consumer views on the general economic development and the financial situation of the household, including with regard to the purchase of consumer durables. Changes in optimism or pessimism are also identified in the short term, providing an early indication of a possible trend change in private consumption.

### Methodology
By far the most important indicator in this study is the monthly consumer confidence. Consumers are generally more optimistic in spring and summer than in the rest of the year. In order to better compare the figures for consecutive months, this seasonal effect is removed. Consumer confidence consists of five underlying series, each of which is directly adjusted for seasonal effects. The index itself is corrected indirectly because the index is a calculation of the five corrected sub-series. The published consumer confidence is the average of all respondents’ responses in a month, which are then adjusted for seasonal effects. These agitated results are NOT included in these microdata. However, it is possible to calculate the uncorrected or original indici. Further explanations are given in the metadata for the variables. Breakdown of data by household characteristics or personal characteristics (quarterly tables) shall not be published when the cell fill is less than 200. There is no question of weighting, imputation or other processing of the survey data.
### Population
Of the private household in the Netherlands, the head of the household or his/her spouse/permanent partner is questioned. The age is at least 18 years of age or older of the person interviewed.
