Characteristics of participants in education (01-09-2000-01-09-2013)
Description
This file contains the participants in education in the relevant school or academic year. Per participant, the main enrolment (whether or not on 1 October) for all types of education is determined in the school/study year. These are the following types of education: primary (special) primary education ((S)BO), (secondary) special education ((V)SO), secondary education (VO), secondary vocational education (MBO), higher education (HO), including higher vocational education (HBO) and scientific education (WO), and adult education (VE). In addition, a number of characteristics of the participant with regard to his possible MBO and/or HO-main enrolment are included. The educational enrolment file (UNDERWIJSINSCHR) contains precisely all enrolments of a person with additional information including the type of education.
Not all types of education mentioned have been included since academic year 2000/& #039;01.
The types of education for which enrolments are included are:
Ho (HBO and WO) from 2000/'
Ho Registrations to the philosophical institutions from 2015/& #039;16 final.
Ho Enrollments at Transnational University Limburg from 2016/& #039;17 final.
MBO from 2004/'05 (in that academic year 91 % of the enrolments, then complete);
MBO experimental course VMBO-MBO2 from 2010/'
VO (except the practical education and vocational training departments of the Agricultural Training Centres (AOC 's)) from 2003/'
VO enrolments with VBO departments of the AOC and#039;s from 2005/'06;
Vocational education from 2007/'08;
Ve as of 2005/'06 (the data on Education may not be complete, those relating to the Continued General Volwasen Education (VAVO) but);
(S)BO and (V)SO from 2015/'16 final;
The following entries are not included in the file:
enrolment in private, non-funded education;
Ho-enrolments at the open university;
Ho-enrollments to designated institutions are only limited.
VO enrolments of pupils who passed the same type of education a year earlier (known from school year 2006/& #039;07);
Registrations outside the Regional Training Centres (ROC 's); Ve education will no longer be included since 2015/& #039;16.
Registrations of MBO extranei are included in the component.
The school or academic year is ahead in terms of:
(S)BO, (V)SO, VO, MBO and VE from 1 August to 31 July;
Ho from 1 September to 31 August.
The educational institutions in the (S)BO, (V)SO, VO, MBO, HBO and WO are funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) or the Ministry of Economic Affairs (EZ). From 1 January 2019, all educational institutions will be funded by OCW.

### Methodology
For the purpose of determining the main enrolment of the types of education, the following prioritisation has been provisionally applied until 2015/'16 (01 goes for 02 etc.):
01 main registration on 1 October in HO
02 main enrolment on 1 October in MBO, not as an extranose
03 main registration on 1 October in VO
04 main enrolment in VE on 1 October, not as an extranose
05 main enrolment on 1 October in MBO as extranose
06 main enrolment on 1 October in VE as extraneus
07 main registration, not on 1 October in HO
08 main registration, not on 1 October in MBO, not as an extranose
09 main registration, not on 1 October in VO
10 main enrolment, not on 1 October in VE, not as an extranose
11 main enrolment, not on 1 October in MBO, as an extranose
12 main enrolment, not on 1 October in VE, as an extraneous
As from 2015/'16, the following prioritisation has been definitively applied for the determination of the main enrolment of the types of education (01 goes for 02 etc.):

03 main registration on 1 October in VO
04 main registration in VE on 1 October
05 main registration on 1 October in (V)SO

11 main registration, not on 1 October in VE
12 main enrolment, not on 1 October in MBO, as an extranose

Each record is the main enrollment of a participant at an educational institution across the educational types.
