Stock change type of dwellings and non-residential dwellings (01/01/2012 - 01/01/2023)

Description

New annual component from 01/01/2023: https://dsc-web/?view=Detail&type=dsc_datasourcedesign&id=0b01e410807a5144 This component contains data on the monthly changes in the stock of dwellings and non-residential dwellings as of 1 January 2012 due to new construction, demolition and other changes. This takes into account stock type transitions (from home to non-home and vice versa). The data comes from the Basic Register of Addresses and Buildings (BAG). The counts from this file are obtained by using the monthly extract from the BAG as a source. More information on how to access the data: > https://www.cbs.nl/en-en/our-services/custom-and-microdata/microdata-self-research ### Methodology The data in this table are based on the monthly extracts of the BAG. These are provided by the manager of the National Facility BAG, the Land Registry. The research method for determining inventory changes can be found in the short research description related to the StatLine table 'Inventory of dwellings and non-residential dwellings, usage functions, region 's'. In the case of non-residential dwellings, changes in user functions are not recorded (for example, from office function to shop function). As a result, the numbers for additions and withdrawals of the individual uses of non-residential buildings in the chosen period are not necessarily conclusive. From 2021, CBS switched to BAG 2.0. Most of the changes are technical in nature. The most important substantive change within the BAG registration concerns the introduction of the new statuses of buildings and residence objects. In addition to the statuses 'demolished', 'in use' the statuses 'renovation' and ' incorrectly performed' bee. This means that the derivation of stock of homes is determined differently. The residence objects with ‘renovation’ statuses are then added to the stock. This current expansion has not led to the trend breaks and only has the consequence that the statuses in which a residence object is located can be distinguished. In order to make optimal use of this new information, the derivation rules for mutations have also been adjusted. For example, it is now better possible to distinguish administrative corrections from physical changes such as demolition, withdrawal or addition to the stock. The adjustment of the derivation rules for mutations did not lead to a change in the total number of mutations, this number has remained the same. The new rules do allow us to better categorize the mutations. The new method has therefore resulted in small shifts between the existing categories. More information can be found in https://www.cbs.nl/-/media/_pdf/2022/22/mutation derivations-bag-2-0.pdf ### Population All residential objects from the BAG (residential, non-residential or residential buildings combined with other use function(s) with at least one change in the reporting period. The residence objects are unique at the time of the survey.
