Inclusion in an AWBZ institution for which an own contribution must be paid (01-01-2004 - 01-01-2011)

Description

This file contains the data of all admissions of persons aged 18 years or older who received care with accommodation in the reporting year, the costs of which are borne by the AWBZ (General Exceptional Medical Expenses Act) and for which a personal contribution must be paid. The SSB component shall contain per person in the underlying reporting year the start and end dates of a withdrawal with the type of institution (up to and including 2010) where the care was provided. This file contains only recordings of people who once stood or are still standing in the Municipal Personal Records Database (GBA). Persons of 18 years or older who receive care whose costs are at the expense of the AWBZ are legally obliged to contribute to the costs of that care. This is called the own contribution AWBZ. The personal contribution is due from the day that the stay is at the expense of the AWBZ. The personal contribution obligation ends as soon as the stay is definitively no longer at the expense of the AWBZ. If one does not stay in the institution, but the place in the institution remains reserved, for example in the event of weekend leave or temporary admission to the hospital, the own contribution remains due. The type of setting is derived from the first two digits of the AGB code (General Data Management Code). On 1 April 2004, the modernisation of the AWBZ started, as a result of which the separation between types of institutions has disappeared and healthcare providers can also provide care outside their own sector. As a result, a healthcare provider does not necessarily have to provide the type of care that its code implies. For this reason, from the reporting year 2011 onwards, the type of institution will no longer be supplied. If recognition has started for the reporting year, the first day of reporting year (1 January) has been reported as the start date of the recognition period. If recognition continues into the next fiscal year, the last day of fiscal year (31 December) is reported as the end date of the recognition period. The withdrawal dates have been adjusted for overlapping withdrawal periods and for death. If there was an overlapping recognition period, the end date of the first recognition is adjusted to the start date of the next recognition. If the recording continued after the death, the end date of the recording is equal to the date of death. By moving from one institution to another, it is possible that a person appears twice in the file on a reference date. The end date of the first withdrawal is then equal to the start date of the second withdrawal. Generic permission for the use of this file has been granted by the data provider, on the condition that the data provider receives an overview of the studies carried out. This overview is maintained by the Centre for Policy Statistics.
