This file contains data on hospitalisations in Dutch hospitals of persons registered in the Municipal Basic Administration (GBA).

### Methodology
The data on hospitalisations are from the National Medical Registration (LMR). This is linked to the Municipal Basic Administration (GBA) in order to be able to identify individuals. The link takes place on the key date of birth, gender and postcode.Not all hospitals participate (fully) in the LMR. In addition, not all hospitalisations can be linked to a person from the GBA. A higher factor is determined to weigh the uniquely linked hospitalisations to the total number of hospitalisations in the Netherlands in the year under review. Details of the upgrade method are described in the note 'increase at the uptake level of LMR data linked to the GBA#039;.The data from this file are used to provide a statistic on hospital admissions by diagnosis and origin grouping. Some of the non-participating hospitals have a different distribution of origin in their patient population. The recordings of these hospitals are kept outside the regular increase. For these hospitals, the origin group of the patients is estimated on the basis of data from an earlier year, in which the hospital still participated in the LMR. The records are then added to the file with uniquely linked hospitalisations with a high factor of 1.00.
