Description
Mapping Dutch commercial vehicles according to vehicle characteristics (such as age, weight, fuel type) and owners (such as geographical characteristics and company characteristics).

### Methodology
The Commercial Vehicle Database uses existing registers. The population consists of all commercial vehicles listed in the Register of the Road Traffic Authority (RDW) in the reporting year. These vehicles are then assigned to the main user. This is the one who used the vehicle for most days in the reporting year. Often leasing companies are the main user of the vehicle. The RDW usually includes, for a leased vehicle, the data of the leasing company, the owner of the vehicle, and not the contractor, the actual user of the vehicle. In order to best allocate vehicles to the actual use of the vehicle, information from the Tax and Customs Administration’s lease file is used. In order to be able to distribute main users to companies and individuals, the General Companies Register (ABR) of the CBS, the Municipal Basic Administration (GBA) and the CBS basic database of self-employed persons have been used. Background characteristics of the main user such as industry and company size have also been extracted from these registers.

All Orderauto &s, Trucks & #039;s, Tractors and Special Vehicles with a valid Dutch license plate that are admitted to traffic on public roads during (part of) the reporting year.
