Persons enrolled in a LINH General Practitioner’s Practice (01-01-2002-01-01-2012)

This file contains data about people registered with general practitioners who participate in the National Information Network Huisartsenzorg (LINH). For the use of this file, permission is required from the data provider. This permission can be obtained by sending an e-mail with the analysis plan or the quotation to the Centre for Policy Statistics: [mail address hidden – contact CBS]. The Centre for Policy Statistics will then contact the data supplier for arranging consent. About 80 general practitioners are affiliated with LINH. The LINH registration includes a number of general practice different per year, with the registration holder NIVEL moving towards representativeness for the Dutch population when selecting practices. Because of selective non-response, this is not entirely possible. The recording shall include data on operations and disease episodes. In addition, it contains an exit from the client administration of general practice. This file is based on this exit. Only the permanent clients are included in a practice; passers-by are not part of the sample population. Only people who are uniquely connectable and have a valid RIN number (RINPERSOON=R) are included in the file. Because of the link keys (gender, date of birth and postcode4) there are N-op-N links: clients with such a link are not part of this file. Only uniquely connectable clients with a 1-to-1 link with the Municipal Basic Administration Persons (GBA) are present in this final file. Other clients removed from the file are clients that according to data from the CentralCouple FilePersons (CKP) were not registered in the GBA in the reporting year. Furthermore, clients who did not belong to the client file of a Huisartpractice according to the provided entry and unsubscribe date in the reporting year were omitted. Clients observed by the LINH general practitioner in a reporting year less than 0.5 of their GBA person year have been removed. This can be due to a move to or from a non-LINH GP practice, or a move in combination with in/outflows in the GBA. A minimum observation time of 0.5 GBA person year is needed to estimate sufficiently reliable prevalences, the percentage of people visiting the general practitioner one or more times over a year or more, or going through a particular disease episode.From the persons enrolled as a client in two different LINH general medical practices during the reporting year, the client data relating to the longest observed period in the reporting year are selected. ### Population Persons registered with general practitioners who participate in the National Information Network Huisartsenzorg (LINH).
