California condor and black vulture Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza vaccine trial
Description
In 2023, critically endangered California condors experienced an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). We evaluated safety, immunogenicity, vaccination strategies, and correlates of antibody response of a conditionally licensed influenza vaccine for poultry in black vultures and then California condors. These data represent the correlates of antibody response, including hemagglutination inhibition and binding antibodies at various days post-vaccination. Blood chemistry and bone lead data for black vultures are also included.
