Limits of the metropolitan poles of the Hauts-de-France region (at 01/01/2021)
Description
Decoupling of regional metropolitan hubs.
Created in 2010 by the law on the reform of local authorities, metropolitan centres are mixed trade unions with projects between public institutions of intercommunal cooperation (EPCI) with own taxation. (The MAPTAM law of 2014 has softened the rules for the creation of these metropolitan poles).
The metropolitan hubs have recognised skills in economic development, innovation, research, higher education, culture, spatial planning, infrastructure development and transport services.
Note that the metropolitan pole of the Côte d’Opale and that of Audomarois see their perimeters superimposed on the CA of the Pays de St-Omer and the CC of Pays de Lumbres:
