INSPIRE-WMS Soil / Geothermal Potential BB
Description
The interoperable INSPIRE WMS is a display service that displays data in the annex schema ground (derived from the original dataset: Geothermal potential of Brandenburg). It provides an overview of the area requirements of geothermal collectors for the use of near-surface geothermal energy in Brandenburg, optimised for scale 1: 300 000. This map is based on the legend units of the soil overview map (BÜK300) with corresponding assignment of parameterized surface soil shapes. These represent a soil-forming society for each unit of legend (LE). The individual surface soil forms (FBF) were determined with soil physical characteristics, which were determined by terrain and laboratory tests. The present map takes into account two main factors influencing the thermal conductivity of the soil, soil type and soil water balance. According to the INSPIRE data specification Soil (D2.8.III.3_v3.0), the contents of the ground map are INSPIRE-compliant. The WMS contains the following layers:
- SO.geothermalAreaDemand: Geothermal collectors describe the potential area requirement of ground-mounted heat exchangers, so-called geothermal collectors, for the geothermal use of the soil.
- SO.SoilBody: Delimited and homogeneous part of the floor covering with respect to certain soil characteristics and/or spatial patterns.

The compliant INSPIRE-WMS Soil / Geothermisches Potential Brandenburg is a view service that delivers data in the annex schema Soil (derived from the original data set: Geothermal potential Brandenburg). It provides an overview of the area demand of ground source heat collectors for the use of near-surface geothermal energy in the State of Brandenburg, optimized for the scale of 1 : 300,000. This map is based on the legend units of the soil overview map (BÜK300). The map takes into account two major factors influencing the thermal conductivity of the soil, soil texture and soil water balance. The content of the soil map is compliant to the INSPIRE data specification for the annex theme Soil (D2.8.III.3_v3.0). The WMS includes the following layers:
- SO.geothermalAreaDemand: Area demand for geothermal heat collectors indicates the potential area consumption of ground source heat collectors for the geothermal use of the soil.
- SO.SoilBody: Part of the soil cover that is delineated and that is homogeneous with regard to certain soil properties and/or spatial patterns.
