On Friday, November 8, Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines. It triggered storm surges and led to thousands of deaths, nearly two million homeless people and extensive destruction in the central Philippines.Based on a visual interpretation of an after satellite image (Pléiades, 14.11.2013, 02:10) a detailed damage assessment was made.
