Social and Health Care Residencies for the Elderly
Description
Social and health care residence mainly provides social care services to elderly people, over 64 years of age, with serious psychophysical deficits, as well as to people with senile dementias, who do not need complex health services, but who require a high degree of assistance to the person with assistance and socio-rehabilitative interventions with high socio-health integration, who are not able to lead an independent life and whose pathologies, not in the acute phase, cannot predict that limited levels of recoverability of autonomy and cannot be assisted at home.
The RSSA for the elderly cannot accommodate people under the age of 64 with severe disabilities, except for people with age-related dementias, Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, even if they have not reached the age of 64.
Hosting at the RSSA refers to long-term programmes. Access to the services provided by the RSSA is through the Multidimensional Assessment Unit (MVA)
(Art. 66 R.R. 4/2007).
