MUNICIPAL TECHNICAL CARD - Volumetric buildings (WGS84 reference system) Click on the link to view the 3D map of Bologna.The Bologna3D web application is a tool that allows the content of the ‘volumetric buildings’ level of the CTC – Municipal Technical Map of the Municipality of Bologna to be displayed in three-dimensional mode.The CTC is a 1:2000 scale technical cartography that the SIT of the Municipality of Bologna had carried out in 2001, using the direct photogrammetric method. In the return, in the volumetric buildings, among other alphanumeric information, the eaves and the height at the foot of the buildings were also included, with a tolerance of 54 cm.From 2001 onwards, the CTC was updated, in particular the level of the volumetric buildings, using as the primary source the project documents, coming from the building practices presented for new constructions or for interventions of a certain importance, with changes to the pre-existing volumes. As secondary sources, of support or verification, precision orthophotos and libraries of oblique images have been used, composed of aerial, oblique and orthogonal images, of high resolution and with large overlapping areas. The Municipality of Bologna has already collected a substantial number of such bookstores, since surveys have been carried out annually since 2005. Recently, an aerial survey was carried out, with a new sensor through which images were acquired and simultaneously LiDAR data became an important data source for updating the heights of the Municipal Technical Map.The updating of the main levels of the CTC, and in particular of the level in question, is carried out in a continuous flow.A number of Esri technology tools were used to create, publish and manage the 3D web scene displayed in the Bologna3D application. The scene is a thematic geographic content that allows spatial information, such as the height of buildings, to be visualised and analysed in an intuitive and interactive 3D environment.
