Master plan Gehen Floridsdorf – Foot traffic concept for the 21. District of Vienna – Vienna

The Federal Government (Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology) launched a new support rail in 2021 as part of “klimaaktiv mobil”, which can also be used for the first time explicitly to promote measures in the field of foot traffic. The basic condition to be able to submit projects for grants at all is the presence of a local master plan going. The eligibility criteria are designed in such a way that these master plans for Vienna must be submitted at district level. The Floridsdorf district is Vienna’s second largest district in terms of area. According to a survey of the mobility behaviour of the city of Vienna in the 21st century District covered 24 % of all walks, which is a rather lower share of foot traffic compared to other districts. Recommendations for action for Floridsdorf were developed to improve the foot traffic infrastructure and also to increase the quality of stay in public spaces such as around Jedlesee, Schwarze Lackenau, Stammersdorf and Leopoldau and in the vicinity of the Am Spitz office building.
