MAES/EUNIS Habitat map 10m
Description
Within the scope of the present project, a map of the biotope types of Austria was created. It served as a basis for the identification and identification of the ‘sensitive habitats’ that are used in the evaluation of the exceedance of critical nitrogen inputs (critical loads). Since biotope mapping is not available in all federal states or does not cover the entire federal area, it was necessary to use and integrate further existing information. The classification of habitats according to EUNIS (Davies et al. 2004) is used. All input data were mapped to this classification system. Empirical critical loads are available for the different habitats (United Nations 2010). HAB_ESc_1_2 - Generalization of the habitat map of Austria to the MAES Ecosystem Types (Fiala, 2013)
