Description
Fulfilment of the obligation under Article 5 of the Decree on special protection areas (Natura 2000 areas) and informing the public about NATURA 2000 areas. Natura 2000 is a European network of Special Protection Areas (SPAs) designated in the Member States of the European Union with the primary aim of preserving biodiversity for future generations.
Special protection areas are therefore intended for the conservation of animal and plant species and habitats which are rare or endangered at European level by human activity. The data set is an official data for valid NATURA 2000 sites, which were adopted by the Decree on Special Protection Areas (Natura 2000 sites) (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia Nos 49/04, 110/04, 59/07, 43/08, 8/12, 33/13, 35/13 - corr., 39/13 - Const. US, 3/14, 21/16 and 47/18).
The data set shows NATURA 2000 sites designated under the Birds Directive (Council Directive 79/409/EEC of 2 April 1979 on the conservation of wild birds) - SPA sites, and the Habitats Directive (Council Directive 92/43/EEC of 21 May 1992 on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora) - pSCI/SAC sites.
