Air quality measurements and meteorological measurements.
Description
The Federal Environment Agency operates seven air quality monitoring centres at which background pollution, long-distance shipments of air pollutants and trends in air quality are recorded. The report shows the results of the measurements in 2019 and the development of the last 30 years. The limit values for particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide and carbon monoxide, as well as for heavy metals and benzo(a)pyrene were complied with at all measuring points in 2019. The lowest loads since the beginning of the measurements were recorded at most measuring points. The ozone target values for the protection of human health and vegetation have been exceeded at all measuring points except Vorhegg. Ozone pollution in 2019 was close to the average of recent decades. The information threshold was exceeded in 2019 at the Illmitz measuring point.
