Harvest authorisation register Saarland
Description
The harvest authorisation register shall contain data on the stocks authorised as selected or tested propagating material of the tree species subject to the Law on Forest Seeds and Planting Material. The register shall contain a registration mark for each approval unit and data on the location, owner, size, ecological basis and age of the approved stock. The register shall be kept separately by tree type, type, category and purpose of the authorised raw material for Saarland. Saarland The characteristics of a tree depend largely on the tree species. But also within the species there is a great genetic diversity that influences the growth characteristics, growth form and the effects of environmental factors on the tree. When establishing forests, the genetic origin of the seed or planting material is therefore important for the forest owner in addition to choosing the appropriate tree species. Trees in approved crops have documented and useful properties for forest management, their seed or planting material may be obtained and placed on the market for forestry purposes. In Germany, since 1 January 2003, the Forest Propagation Material Act has been the legal basis for taking into account the safety of origin and genetic diversity in the extraction and placing on the market of forest reproductive material.
