NVDB The Swedish road network
Description
The data product is described as a product but actually consists of different components, reference links, nodes and reference link parts without its own characteristics in the form of phenomena. The network “The Swedish road network” in itself has no knowledge of the characteristics attached to it.
The purpose of the data product is to represent Sweden’s road network. The network should be used as a reference network to link events, characteristics and objects (objects) to the road network, which, among other things, contributes to the sharing of road-related data between activities. The geometry and topology of the product together with the phenomena enable, for example, overall planning or route planning after processing (see the data product “road data for transport planning”).
The reference road network (The Swedish road network) will describe how the road extends through the landscape and how the roads are connected, i.e. its geometry and topology. The reference road network consists of roads, streets and other routes or places commonly used for the use of motor vehicles, as well as roads intended for cycling and moped traffic. Roads intended for walking may be included. On the other hand, tractor roads, snowmobile trails or temporary roads, e.g. ice roads, are not included. Both the existing and the historical road network will be displayed, but future road networks may also be included.
It is not possible to download the network without linking to another category or phenomenon separately. In the menu on Lastkajen.se, when downloading the concept of “road traffic network” the reference road network can be included by activating the function “Include reference networks” before downloading. This gives the clearest representation of the road network as a whole, broken down by mode of transport.
