Map of Fürstenthum Lippe 1 : 25 000, 1881-1883
Description
The area of the former principality of Lippe, almost identical to the present district of Lippe, was not touched by the Prussian map recording. This map is an island map in 6 sections (sections) without geodetic reference that is still recognizable today. It was derived by generalization of the land tax marking map (cadastre map) and drawn between 1881 - 1883. The georeferencing was carried out with identical points from the Prussian New Recording of 1891-1912. Section V was split. The right-hand part has been added to Section VI. This was necessary in order to have four pieces of cards meet each other at one point. After merging, the map sheets bordering Prussia were trimmed at the border.The cleavages or superimpositions created at the map edges can be explained by different recording methods, border regulations in the period from about 1836 to 1881 and the different geodetic foundations.
