Quiet Areas - Diagnosis PPBE - Environmental Noise Prevention Plan - MEL

Description

The Environmental Noise Prevention Plan (EPPP) is a **action tool** to prevent and reduce the effects of infrastructure-related noise in agglomerations (more information on the cases concerned in terms of resources). Two types of zones have been defined by the MEL: ***Stakeholder Areas (SAs)*** Other types of areas established in the PPBE **(see metadata sheet)** ***Quiet areas (ZC)*** The first definition of Quiet Areas, based on regulatory texts, is as follows: * "Exterior space remarkable for its low exposure to noise, in which the authority drawing up the plan wishes to control the evolution of this exposure, taking into account the human activities carried out or planned’.* * Several criteria were chosen not only taking into account noise: * Accessibility * Layout * Visibility and ownership * Uses * Areas preserved from the negative noises of everyday life * Relevance and consistency across the territory * Political will **Metadata available for strategic noise maps** Diagnosis PPBE (Plan for the Prevention of Noise in the Environment) Areas of Concern - Diagnosis PPBE - Environmental Noise Prevention Plan - MEL Quiet Areas - Diagnosis PPBE - Environmental Noise Prevention Plan - MEL Strategic noise maps: maps created from data collected internally or externally at the MEL, which allowed the development of the PPBE Noise exposure level - < 55 decibels - MEL Noise Exposure Level - Cumulative Noise Types - MEL Noise exposure level - All infrastructure (air, road, rail, industrial) - MEL
