Energy and Greenhouse Gas Scenarios 2023.
Description
In cooperation with experts from CESAR, e-think, TU Graz and TU Wien, the Federal Environment Agency draws up scenarios at regular intervals on the development of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, for the EU reporting obligation under the Governance Regulation. The WEM scenario shows the development with existing, legally valid measures. The WAM scenario depicts measures that experts believe are likely to be implemented. The Transition scenario shows the way to a climate-neutral Austria. Climate neutrality 2040 means lower energy consumption, a switch to renewable energy sources (electricity, hydrogen, biogenic) and practically greenhouse gas-free buildings and mobility. Unavoidable emissions must be compensated. This report compares the three scenarios WEM, WAM and Transition.
