Sub-area according to SchALVO
Description
Sub-areas are used in the implementation of the SchALVO Protected Areas and Compensation Ordinance if hydrogeologically delimited sub-areas of a water protection area have different nitrate classes.
Water protection areas are classified as ‘normal areas’, ‘nitrate problem areas’ and ‘nitrate remediation areas’ depending on the nitrate or plant protection product content in groundwater. In water protection areas with several water reservoirs, the lower water authority may establish sub-basins if different raw water qualities are present within these sub-areas and the hydrogeological conditions allow a sub-area delimitation. A WSG must consist of at least two sub-areas.
The official property cadastre information system (ALKIS) serves as the basis for recording the geometry data.
