New-Aquitaine: State of play of regional ecological continuity in Aquitaine — Ecological Corridors (surface)
Description
This table contains the ecological corridors identified in the state of regional ecological continuity in Aquitaine co-piloted by the Region and the State.
Ecological corridors provide connections between biodiversity reservoirs, providing favourable conditions for species to move and complete their life cycle. Corridors can be linear, discontinuous or landscaped.
The state of ecological continuity in Aquitaine uses data which have been used to develop the Regional Schema of Ecological Coherence d’Aquitaine (SRCE). This scheme was annulled by the Administrative Tribunal of Bordeaux (judgment of 13 June 2017) for lack of functional autonomy between the environmental assessment authority of the scheme and the authority that adopted it.
Unlike the rescinded SRCE, this state of play has no legal significance. It contains only elements of knowledge about ecological continuity across Aquitaine, which is transmitted, for information purposes, to project promoters or put online. Indeed, the State and the Region consider that the information contained in this document at the level of Aquitaine is such as to facilitate the identification of biodiversity issues in a territory, bearing in mind that it should be recalled that this information cannot in any case be enforceable.
