Description
The dataset RCE-Dijkenkaart contains a national mapping of the dikes and quays in the Netherlands. This dataset also includes many dikes that have now disappeared. The file is based on various inventories by provinces, additional inventories commissioned by the Rijksdienst, own inventories, layingers of water boards, new and old topographic maps, the Waterstaatskaart (1860-1890), the General river map 1st pressure (1830-1915), the Current Altitude File Netherlands and the OpenTopo map image. The dataset consists of 1 table containing fields with the dike name, the dating, the status of the dike, the original function and a field details with further culturally relevant information.
