INTEMARES campaign area of Banco de La Concepción
Description
The information contained in this data set corresponds to the LIC of Banco de La Concepción (ESZZ15001), one of the study areas of the INTEMARES project. The seamount called Banco de La Concepción is located north of Lanzarote (Canary Islands - Macaronesia - Atlantic Ocean).
It is a single polygonal element representing the area of the campaign INTEMARES-A 4-CANARIAS-1118.
The object has associated the alphanumeric variables of area in different units.
The geographical information collected is stored in a spatial database.
Several oceanographic campaigns have been carried out in the area.
These works have been financed thanks to the LIFE IP INTEMARES Project (LIFE-IP INTEMARES - Integrated, Innovative and Participatory Management for N2000 network in the Marine Environment - LIFE15 IPE/ES/000012).
This integrated project has the challenge of laying the foundations to effectively manage the marine areas of the Natura 2000 Network and complete the work and progress promoted within the framework of the LIFE + INDEMARES project, which managed to take a great step in terms of declaring new areas.
