Description
In order to manage the groundwater, the Flemish subsoil is divided into several three-dimensional units: groundwater bodies. Within these groundwater bodies, environmental objectives are tested and, if necessary, measures are imposed. BEVLS_A0800_1 - Quartair and Ypres south, unsealed. Content: deposits of the Ieperian Aquifer system A0800, the Quartaire Aquifer systems A0100 not belonging to overlying groundwater bodies, the Ieperian Aquitard system A0900 to a maximum depth of 50 meters below the summit of A0900 (including the deposits of the Clay Sand of Mons-en-Pévèle A0903), and islands of the Kempens Aquifer system A0200 and the Ledo Paniseliaan Brusselian Aquifer system A0600. The bodies of groundwater have both a name and a code. This code starts with an abbreviation of the Member State and the Region (BEVLM_A0200_2 = Belgium, Flanders), followed by the letter "S" or "M", indicating that a groundwater body is situated in the Scheldt or Meuse river basin district (BEVLM_A0200_2 = Meuse). The numerical code refers to the HCOVv2 code, which corresponds to the main aquifer (BEVLM_A0200_2 = Kempens Aquifer system). A sequential number at the end indicates the further spatial division of the groundwater bodies into that aquifer (BEVLM_A0200_2 = second groundwater body in the Meuse river basin district of which the Kempens Aquifer system is the most important aquifer).
