Green care class

Description

The green care category describes the overall appearance, use and quality of care of the green area. The need for treatment and the methods of treatment in different treatment categories vary a lot from daily to once-a-growing period. A more detailed description of the green management categories and the quality requirements can be found in the publication of the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency ‘18/2014 Green construction and management in the road environment’. The information is generated at the road plan stage, where the green care category should be defined. The Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centre) makes the missing definition or the necessary clarification when taking over the management of the road (new road or transfer to the state). The maintenance categories are permanently in force, and the classification is revised, if necessary, at the stage of preparing the tendering for each road maintenance contract, currently every 5 years. The ELY Centres are responsible for maintaining the information. The target category is not versionable. The information covers roads and ramps.
