Water structure mapping according to the fine method

Description

The water structure describes the water body, its banks and the water environment. Varied structures are important as a basis for the ecological functioning of the water and thus for the preservation and development of natural communities. It is part of the hydromorphological quality components of the WFD Water Framework Directive. The water structure mapping describes the water status on site on the basis of the main parameters run development, longitudinal profile, transverse profile, sole structure, bank structure and water environment. It is considered whether suitable habitats are available for all living creatures in and on the water. It is also recorded whether the naturally occurring plant life is located in and along the water. The results of the fine mapping are important foundations for various tasks, e.g. for the preparation of management plans or the monitoring of the success of structural measures. The fine method for water structure mapping developed by LAWA has been adapted for Baden-Württemberg and is described in the manual "Water Structure Mapping in Baden-Württemberg - Fine Methods". Depending on the progress of the data, a map is published as a pdf at irregular intervals as a product.
