Description
The information contained in this dataset is a raster with the BTM classes of the study area, with 75 m resolution.
The area covered by the data provided covers the seamount under SCI ESZZ12002 Banco de Galicia.
The production of this set of geographical information began in 2012, thanks to the BANGAL 0710 and BANGAL0711 oceanographic campaigns. In 2019, a reanalysis of these data was undertaken with new techniques and algorithms, improving the quality of the information obtained.
The resulting geographic information is stored in a spatial database and new elevation models of the area were developed, from which the BTM (Benthic Terrain Modeler) classes were obtained.
The reprocessing works have been financed thanks to the LIFE IP INTEMARES Project (LIFE-IP INTEMARES - Integrated, Innovative and Participatory Management for N2000 network in the Marine Environment - LIFE15 IPE/ES/000012). This integrated project has the challenge of laying the foundations to effectively manage the marine areas of the Natura 2000 Network and complete the work and progress promoted within the framework of the LIFE + INDEMARES project, which managed to take a great step in terms of declaring new areas.
