Description
An overview map 7.4 on the topic “flood protection” in Germany can only be selected
reflect on larger, technical protective measures. The focus of action on flood protection is reflected, among other things, in the spatial concentration of protective structures. The map includes a selection of such facilities,
they are primarily used for flood protection in Germany. In addition to dams and flood retention basins, the controllable polders on the rivers, which have been

Rivers and coastal areas are mapped by selected dike systems. The flood reporting levels and high water alarm centers shown are part of the nationwide flood intelligence service in Germany.
