Solar cadastre NRW: Ground-mounted photovoltaics: Negative areas
Description
The Landesamt für Natur, Umwelt und Verbraucherschutz NRW (LANUV NRW) operates the Solarkataster NRW (www.solarkataster.nrw.de) in the Energy Atlas NRW specialist information system. This includes the area ‘Solar potential open spaces’, which provides various maps on the subject of open space photovoltaics. The map "Search areas for open-air PV" shows all areas that, after an automated nationwide analysis, can initially be considered for open-air PV systems (space-significant and non-space-significant systems). The map was created according to the exclusion principle by excluding land uses that are very likely not suitable for open-field photovoltaics. These excluded areas represent the area backdrop of the map ‘Negative areas’ available here. The map can be used on site for planning or delimiting areas, but must be checked there and further differentiated with local criteria. The exact procedure for creating the map ‘Search areas for open space PV’ and the excluded ‘Negative areas’ can be found in the attached metadata.
