Description
WMS Inherited Desertification Service in Andalusia (Multitemporal evaluation and monitoring of desertification in Andalusia through a Geographic Information System within the DESERTNET II Project). Referring to areas where the processes causing desertification have had a secular impact since ancient times, causing a degradation of the productive capacity of the land on the territory in such a way that to obtain agricultural production it is necessary to use technological elements and high value inputs, in addition to having to carry out actions on the environment with a strong environmental impact. They are lands where desertification is a natural process to which human actions on the environment have been adapted since historical times. Based on information related to climate, geomorphology, soils and climax vegetation and through its analysis and combination, a complex diagnosis has been made that determines the areas where it can be considered as inherited desertification. This combination of factors has shaped desert landscapes that constitute in themselves areas of high ecological and landscape value. Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning.
