Categorization of Subsections of the Great Coastal Route (GRL) of the Special Plan of the Coastal Paths and Paths Network (CFSP)

Description

This set of data belongs to the Special Plan of the Network of Paths and Roads of the Coast of Cantabria (PESC), approved according to the Decree of Cantabria 51/2010, of 26 August.This set of data must be used together with the rest of the geographical data sets that make up the PESCy that in total are four:- Layout of the Great Coastal Route (GRL), with its corresponding fragmentation in paths.- Layouts of the Small Coastal Routes (PRL), with its corresponding fragmentation in paths.- Categorization of subsections of the Great Coastal Route, with the characterization by levels according to the environmental environments through which each subsection GRL (this layer) transits.- Categorization of subsections of the Small Coastal Routes, with the characterization by levels according to the environmental environments through which each subsection PRL transits. Specifically, this set of data describes the categorizations of the subsections of the Great Littoral Route (GRL) classified according to two criteria:1/. The environmental value (differentiating between subsections that run through areas of High Value, Transition or Periurban). El tipo de plataforma o firme previsto (diferenciando entre Existente o parcialmente formalizado, No formalizado, Plataforma elevada o Paralela).La combinación de estos dos criterios da lugar a los distintos niveles de categorización.Estos niveles de categorización acompañan al trazado previsto delGran Recorrido Litoral (GRL), pero no son su eje, sino líneas paralelas a 25 m de dicho eje.El Gran Recorrido Litoral pretende ser una senda litoral cuasi-continua que atraviese Cantabria de este a oeste y que una vez construida forme parte del gran sendero europeo GRE-9.El Plan Especial de la Red de Sendas y Caminos del Litoral (PESC) tiene su origen en la Ley 2/2004, de 27 de septiembre, del Plan de Ordenación del Litoral (POL). Specifically, in Title VIII of that Law, which focuses on making proposals for action in the area of the coast, and specifically in Article 67, which indicates the need to carry out the CFSP.The main objectives of the Special Plan for the Network of Coastal Paths and Paths are those indicated by Article 67 of Law 2/2004, which are:- Establish and configure a corridor that crosses the Autonomous Community of Cantabria from east to west, integrating into supranational networks. Delimit the Network of Paths and Roads in a clear, accessible and safe way that improves the use, enjoyment and knowledge of the coast. - Establish a Network of Paths that facilitates the accessibility and enjoyment of the coast to blind people and people with reduced mobility, in particular to the beaches accessible to them. - To integrate Cantabria into the European trail project GRE-9, "Cornisa Atlántica", in order to unite with a single pedestrian route the entire coast from the Nordic countries to the Iberian Peninsula. - Strengthen knowledge of the coast as a territorial and cultural element of the region, favoring social involvement in its protection. Along with these main objectives, we can also point out another series of additional objectives:- Rationalize the works of recovery, restoration and creation of paths, in order to achieve a rational use of the coastal territory as well as the conservation and maintenance of its landscape values and heritage elements. - Promote the recovery and conservation of the traditional heritage linked to the roads of the coast, as well as its historical, artistic, monumental, ethnographic, environmental and landscape wealth. - To promote and encourage knowledge of the coast as a heritage element of the Autonomous Community, promoting the use and enjoyment of nature as a space for culture and leisure, ordering its public use and promoting knowledge of the environment in accordance with the necessary protection and conservation of nature. - Promote the integration of traditional paths and their elements within new development models.
