Census, Coordinated employment statistics Time series — Demography

Description

The register censuses 2011 and 2021 and the annual agreed employment statistics are full surveys on characteristics of the Austrian resident population as at 31.10., which are carried out by means of an evaluation of administrative and register data. The content concept is based on the EU regulation on population and housing censuses. The 1991 and 2001 censuses are full questionnaire surveys for the reference dates 15.5.1991 and 15.5.2001 respectively. The content concept is based on the 1980 Census Act and the census recommendations of the Conference of European Statisticians (Census Round 1990 and 2000 respectively). In the 2001 census, the EU guidelines were also relevant for the Community programme of population and housing censuses.
