INTEMARES Sampling Stations for Bionomic Mapping of Illes Columbretes Marine Space
Description
The information contained in this data set corresponds to the spatial distribution of the bionomic information used to map the benthic habitats of the submerged environment of Illes Columbretes.
The area comprising the data provided covers the extent of the Sites of Community Importance surrounding the archipelago (ESZZ16010 and ESZZ16004).
It is a data set composed of point elements, where each element represents a location in which a specific habitat has been identified.
Each object is associated with a series of alphanumeric variables such as a unique identifier, the campaign to which it belongs, its coordinates, the habitat identified (with walkways between different nomenclatures), its description and observations.
The preparation of this set of geographical information was carried out sampling campaigns developed mainly in the framework of the INDEMARES (2009-2011) and INTEMARES (2019-2021) projects.
The geographical information collected is stored in a spatial database.
These works have been financed thanks to the LIFE IP INTEMARES Project (LIFE-IP INTEMARES - Integrated, Innovative and Participatory Management for N2000 network in the Marine Environment - LIFE15 IPE/ES/000012). This integrated project has the challenge of laying the foundations to effectively manage the marine areas of the Natura 2000 Network and complete the work and progress promoted within the framework of the LIFE + INDEMARES project, which managed to take a great step in terms of declaring new areas.
