Dedicated protective dunes in Lower Saxony
Description
Protective dunes are dunes that serve to protect an area from storm surge or secure the island's existence. Dunes acquire the property of protective dunes by dedication. The dike authority pronounces the dedication by ordinance. Local circumstances must be taken into account. The protective dunes also include their safety devices.
The provisions of the Lower Saxony Dike Act (NDG) apply to dedicated protective dunes.
