Description
The information contained in this dataset is a vector layer with the background type of the study area.
The area covered by the data provided corresponds to SCI ESZZ12002 Banco de Galicia.
The raw data available to elaborate this vector layer were acquired during 2010 and 2011, thanks to the oceanographic campaigns BANGAL 0710 and BANGAL 0711. During 2019, the reanalysis of the data was undertaken with new techniques, improving the quality of the data. From these models and reflectivity mosaics, the map of background types of the area was made.
The geographical information collected is stored in a spatial database.
The reprocessing works have been financed thanks to the LIFE IP INTEMARES Project (LIFE-IP INTEMARES - Integrated, Innovative and Participatory Management for N2000 network in the Marine Environment - LIFE15 IPE/ES/000012). This integrated project has the challenge of laying the foundations to effectively manage the marine areas of the Natura 2000 Network and complete the work and progress promoted within the framework of the LIFE + INDEMARES project, which managed to take a great step in terms of declaring new areas.
