Description
GE.Hydrogeology provides a generalised view of groundwater resources in soil and rock and is in line with the INSPIRE Geology Theme Data Specification. The data set contains the object types Aquifer, AquiferSystems, Aquiclude, Groundwaterbody and information about natural sources. In this data set, only the top ground reservoir in soil and the top groundwater reservoir in sedimentary rock are reported.
The information forms a basis for decision-making in municipal planning for land use, water supply, groundwater protection and groundwater-related permit and supervision issues. The level of detail differs across the country, overview information in scale 1:250,000 predominates, but more detailed information in scale 1:50 000 can be found across several areas, especially in southern Sweden.
