Description

The Rural Support Programs Network (RSPN) is one of the largest development networks in Pakistan. RSPN implemented the USAID-RSPN TAHAFUZ Project with funding from USAID. The goal of the intervention was to develop and strengthen community institutions, mechanisms and capacities that can systematically contribute to build resilient communities. The project was designed to last between January, 2015 and June, 2016. The overarching focus of the project is to build resilience of local communities to enable them resist hazard impact, to bounce back after disasters and to adapt and change to ensure effective recovery. Promote community participation in disaster risk reduction through the adoption of specific policies, the promotion of networking, the strategic management of volunteer resources, the attribution of roles and responsibilities, and the delegation and provision of the necessary authority and resources. The aim of CBDRM Tahafuz project is to create and nurture resiliency within communities to better manage and respond to disasters.Rural Support Programmes Network is implementing project in partnership with National Rural Support Programme and Thardeep Rural Development Programme in four most disaster prone districts of Sindh Province.
