Population by gender, age groups and household size
Description
The number of inhabitants with main residence in the city of Bremen is shown as a whole and by sex, age groups (6 age groups) and household size (households with 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 or more).The population also includes the registered foreigners (including stateless persons). The population does not include members of stationing forces as well as foreign diplomatic and consular missions with their family members. The source is the update of the population of official statistics agreed between the Länder. The population recorded in the context of the 1987 census is updated annually on the basis of births and deaths as well as the additions and continuations. The distribution of the population below the city level (districts, districts, districts) is taken over from the population register of the city of Bremen.A (private) household form persons who live and operate together, in particular to fund their living together (multi-person budget). Those who operate alone form their own household (one-person household) even if they have a common home. The number of households and associated people is determined by an estimation procedure based on information from the Population Registration Register (KOSIS programme HHGEN).The Bremen Statistical Office is the institution of official statistics of the State of Bremen. Central tasks are the collection, preparation, evaluation and publication of the statistics ordered by law or regulation. At the same time, the Bremen Statistical Office fulfils the functions of the Municipal Statistical Office for the City of Bremen. This means that data and information will also be prepared and made accessible for the small-scale administrative and planning units of the city.
