Population by gender, marital status and age groups
Description
The number of inhabitants with main residence in the city of Bremen is shown by gender, marital status and age groups (8 age groups). The population also includes registered foreigners (including stateless persons). The population does not include members of stationing forces as well as foreign diplomatic and consular missions with their family members. The source is the update of the population of official statistics agreed between the Länder. The population recorded in the context of the 1987 census is updated annually on the basis of births and deaths as well as the additions and continuations. The distribution of the population below the city level (districts, districts, districts) is taken over from the population register of the city of Bremen. All persons living in divorce are considered married as long as the divorce judgment is not yet final. Divorced persons whose former spouse has died are considered divorced, not widowed. Divorced persons are also considered to be persons whose marriage has been repealed. Persons whose spouse has been declared dead shall be considered widowed. Persons whose marriage was declared null and void had to state their marital status before marriage.The Bremen Statistical Office is responsible for the official statistics of the Land of Bremen. Central tasks are the collection, preparation, evaluation and publication of statistics ordered by law or regulation. This means that data and information will also be prepared and made accessible for the small-scale administrative and planning units of the city.
