Soil function assessment Styria
Description
The soil function assessment serves to promote the preservation of productive areas. The assessment is carried out on the basis of the soil subfunctions habitat for soil organisms, location potential for natural plant communities, natural soil fertility, drainage regulation and filters and buffers against pollutants in accordance with ÖNORM L 1076. For each of the functions, the so-called functional performance level is determined, which provides information about the performance of the soil. Based on the degree of function fulfilment, the spatial resistance for the individual sub-functions can be derived. Spatial resistance is the measure of the conflict potential that arises from a particular spatial unit in relation to structural or comparable usage claims.
