Description
The Province does not guarantee that this file contains the most up-to-date situation per municipality. The municipalities themselves own the files that form the basis of this composite file. The file shows the delimitation of the built-up area (core) for the Nature Conservation Act (formerly the Forest Act). Due to urbanisation and intensive use of the cultural landscape, the pressure on forests has increased considerably. The Nature Conservation Act is an important instrument for maintaining the forest area. On the basis of this law, a replanting obligation or harvesting ban can be imposed on an owner or manager. The Nature Conservation Act only applies outside the boundary of the 'built-up area Nature Conservation Act'. The City Council sets this limit. The limitation does not have to coincide with built-up areas under the Road Traffic Act. If the municipality has not established a limit, the Nature Conservation Act applies in principle to the centre of the urban area. The municipality of Winterswijk has different regulations. The municipality of Tiel has set no boundaries. Cores have been signed for the following municipalities, but no date is known: the municipalities of Druten, Oost Gelre, Voorst, Wageningen, Westervoort, West Maas and Waal, and Zevenaar.
