“The file contains the annual population (in 1,000) at the end of the year in Germany by age group from 1871 onwards. Territorial status: 1871 to 1934 German Empire (both territorial status), 1939 territorial status as at 31.12.1937, 1950 to 1989 Former federal territory and GDR as a whole, from 1990 Germany.
The data source shall be the Federal Statistical Office.’
